The patient has the right to register a complaint regarding the exercise of rights granted by this law with the competent ombudsperson’s office. The responsibilities of the ombudsperson’s office are established in Article 11, 2°. In addition to a preventive (preventing complaints and preventing the shortcomings that gave rise to them) and mediating function, the ombudsperson also has a twofold informative function: to provide information about alternate possibilities for dealing with a complaint in the event that mediation fails and to provide information about the organization and functioning of the ombudsperson’s office.
