Danish law does not regulate the right to information about his or health as a separate right. The right to receive information regarding one’s state of health is part of the right to informed consent.
The right not to know has to be respected. A patient has a right to decline information regarding his state of health.
A peculiarity of Danish law is that the therapeutic exception is illegal since 1998 although it is possible to refuse a patient access to his health record if this is considered to be harmful to the patient.
